On 5 August 2025, Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1727 of 5 August 2025 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union. This regulation suspends certain trade rebalancing measures concerning specific products originating in the United States of America, as well as certain Union products exported to the United States, previously imposed by Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1564.
In accordance with the regulation, the application of the trade measures imposed by the Union on the United States of America, as outlined in Articles 1, 2, and 3 of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1564, which came into force on 7 August 2025, is suspended for a period of six months.. These measures consisted of the application of additional customs duties on imports into the Union of specified products originating in the United States, and of restrictions on exports to the United States of certain products originating in the Union.
The Commission will review this suspension in light of how trade relations with the United States develop, and may adopt new measures as appropriate.
