In accordance with the Regulation, customs authorities must register imports into the European Union of continuous synthetic filament yarns of aliphatic polyamides, not conditioned for retail sale, including synthetic monofilament yarns of less than 67 decitex. This also includes all variants of nylon or other aliphatic polyamide yarns, whether textured (with a single yarn weight not exceeding 50 tex) or non-textured, single, doubled, twisted, or cabled (and their variants), with or without twist, currently classified under CN codes 5402 31 00, 5402 45 00, 5402 51 00, and 5402 61 00, originating from the People’s Republic of China. High-tenacity polyamide yarns, classified under CN code 5402 19 00, are excluded from this procedure.
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that, should the investigation announced by the European Commission on 29 July lead to conclusions resulting in the imposition of anti-dumping duties, such duties (if the necessary conditions are met) may be applied retroactively to the registered imports.
