The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) has published the Regulations and Decisions
Reintroducing a series of sanctions on Iran in response to the country’s nuclear proliferation activities. These measures, which had been suspended following the entry into force of the 2015 agreement restricting Iran’s nuclear programme, are now reinstated.
With regard to trade and transport, the sanctions include the following prohibitions:
  • exporting arms to Iran;
  • exporting dual-use goods and items that may be employed in nuclear enrichment-related activities;
  • importing crude oil, natural gas, and petrochemical and petroleum products;
  • selling or supplying key equipment used in the energy sector;
  • selling or supplying gold, other precious metals, and diamonds;
  • selling or supplying specified naval equipment;
  • selling or supplying certain computer software;
  • granting access to EU airports for Iranian cargo flights;
  • carrying out maintenance on Iranian cargo aircraft or freighters transporting prohibited materials or goods.
