The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) has published Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/362 of 17 February 2026, which provides for the registration of imports of benzyl alcohol originating in the People’s Republic of China, with a view to enabling the possible imposition of anti-dumping duties on imports subject to registration.

The product concerned is benzyl alcohol (also known as phenylmethanol, benzenemethanol, phenylcarbinol, or hydroxyethylbenzene), an aromatic alcohol normally classified under CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) number 100-51-6 and CUS (Customs and Statistics) number 0011660-9, currently falling within CN code 2906 21 00 and originating in the People’s Republic of China.

The purpose of the registration is to enable countervailing duties, where applicable, to be collected retroactively with regard to the registered imports in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, provided that the necessary conditions are met.
