The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) has published Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/366 of 19 February 2026, providing for the registration of imports of sodium benzoate originating in the People’s Republic of China.

The product concerned is sodium benzoate, normally classified under CUS (Customs and Statistics) number 0023120-9 and CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) number 532-32-1, currently falling within CN code ex 2916 31 00 (TARIC code 2916 31 00 91), and originating in the People’s Republic of China.

The purpose of the registration is to enable countervailing duties, where applicable, to be collected retroactively with regard to the registered imports in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, provided that the necessary conditions are met.
