The European Union has adopted its nineteenth package of sanctions against Russia and Belarus. The main measures include:
- A ban on the import of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) from 1 January 2027 for long-term contracts, and within six months of the entry into force of the sanctions for short-term contracts.
- A ban on the import of a variant of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
- A ban on access to EU ports for 117 additional vessels.
- Sanctions against businesspeople and companies linked to the Russian military–industrial complex, as well as operators from the United Arab Emirates and China.
- New restrictions on the export of additional dual-use goods and advanced technologies, including metals used in weapons systems and materials employed in propellant production.
- New export bans on products such as salts and minerals, construction materials, and rubber goods.
