New regulations for import and export to or from China

China Customs General Administration has published Nº 56 Decree about some adjustments on China Customs manifest. In order for the safety import and risk management, more information is requested to be provided in manifest.

The main additional information is requirement on customer code. USCI code (Unified Social Credit Identifier, 18 digits) for China registered organizations required for Consignee and Notify Party (if Consignee is To order) for imported shipment, and USCI code is required for Shipper for export shipment. The information should be in order before submission deadline.

If there is no USCI code, it is currently allowed to provide Organization Code (9 digits). Meanwhile, Customs has planned to move up the submission deadline 24hr before loading for China IB shipments. The rule is said to be implemented from 1st June of 2018. Those information is required to be provided on SI for shipment imported to China, and should these details not be provided, your consignment may be at risk of being held by the Chinese Authorities.
